Bureau County
Health & Wellness Clinic

"I am a fifty-seven year old woman who has been blessed by the presence of the Bureau County Health & Wellness Clinic in our community. I lost my health insurance when Harper-Wyman closed and struggled to pay for medications for a year until I couldn't afford them any longer. Then someone told me about the clinic. From the first time I walked into the clinic, I knew these were special people. They not only care for your physical needs but your spiritual needs also. My physical needs are many. I have diabetes, congestive heart failure, asthma, arthritis, and back problems.

Without the clinic and the generosity of the doctors who volunteer their time and the clinic workers, there is no telling where I would be. I probably wouldn't be here. My health issues are serious enough that without my medications, I would probably have died. The clinic has helped me get my medications and the volunteer doctors have helped me with issues that have come up. I have been a patient for four years at the clinic. There aren't enough words to say how grateful I am for both my health and for emotional support at the time of my husband's death. I try to give back as much as possible, but I could never make the scale equal. I would encourage everyone, businesses, health professionals, individuals to help the clinic as much as you can, either by donating services or money. The service to the community that the clinic gives is desperately needed. Do what you can to help the clinic so that they can continue to benefit all the people in need of healthcare but unable to pay for it. "
